Here is a list of the NGLC Hybrid classes in the “experimental” group – those students with access to the extra services (Smarthinking, Starfish, the SLN Commons, etc.).

Students will need to know their HCCC email address to get access to the survey (see instructions are below).
Please ask your students to take this survey right away. Once students log in, the purpose of the survey will be explained to them, so all you need to do is encourage them to login right away. Let them know that you will be getting a list of those who don’t logon, and will be “bugging” them until they do. Once students log on, they will have the option to refuse to participate.
(Note --there are 6 “control” classes that will get a different link. I will send out a separate email to those instructors.)

How to Access your HCCC Student Email Account
You can access your HCCC Student Email Account here: http://www.herkimer.edu/mail <http://www.herkimer.edu/mail> .
You will be asked to enter your authorization information (username/password/domain). Note: in the Domain field, enter “hccc” (without quotes). If you DO NOT see a Domain field, then add the prefix “hccc\” to your username (without quotes or spaces and that’s a BACK slash, not a forward slash).
If you provided HCCC with your Social Security Number then your HCCC account username will be the first seven characters of your last name (if your last name is less than seven characters, then you would use your entire last name), first name initial and last 3 digits of your social security number followed by “@herkimer.edu”.
For example:
- John Doe with a Social Security Number of 123-45-6789 would enter his HCCC Student Email Username as hccc\doej789
- Jane Patterson with a Social Security Number of 987-65-4321would enter her HCCC Student Email Username as hccc\pattersj321
If you are an International Student or you did not provide HCCC with your Social Security Number then your HCCC account username will be the first seven characters of your last name (if your last name is less than seven characters, then you would use your entire last name), first name initial and last 3 digits of your HCCC Student ID Number followed by “@herkimer.edu”.
For example:
- John Doe with an HCCC Student ID Number of H00075123 would enter his username as hccc\doej123
- Jane Patterson with an HCCC Student ID Number of H00077987 would enter her username as hccc\pattersj987
Your password will be your Social Security Number, no dashes, no spaces. For International Students who do not have a Social Security Number, you password will be your HCCC Student ID Number, including the ‘H’ (the ‘H’ must be capitalized as your password is case sensitive.)
